We were commissioned to design a table for an upcoming wedding. Given a free hand we choose a chunky design with 70mm solid oak frame made from 20 year old air dried oak. All joined using traditional mortise and tenon joints. The table top was made from kiln dried oak and finished with a heat and water resistant lacquer.
As the main joinery contractors for this complete renovation project we were asked to design and install a solid Oak frame and French doors all with 24mm Argon filled double glazed units. The frame is 80mm solid oak and the door is 60mm.
Doors that are truly solid and heavy yet close on the top quality English stainless steel hinges with the merest of effort.
The client was so pleased they have asked us to make another matching door and frame for the other side of their house.
We were asked to design a stable type door for a period property for one of our long standing customers. He requested a rustic and solid door for which he choose period ironmongery.

At short notice for one of the building companies we work with often we were asked to design and install a bespoke staircase into a short and narrow run. Using our usual CAD layout system to ensure a perfect fit we designed the staircase to prove the design would meet building regulations. Onsite we cut the stringers from thick stable ply and then faced them with 30mm solid kiln dried oak to ensure stability.
Solid oak frame and insulation sandwiched between our own Oak Tongue and Groove boards. This design of door is proving increasingly popular providing the appearance of a classic ledge and brace door but with the insulation values of a solid oak door.
This bathroom oak unit is one commission of many for the same client. A modern piece designed together with the client and ourselves.
This matching pair of bookcases were custom made to the clients exacting design in 40mm solid Chene Clair. They were then fitted against an existing skirting board and beading. Three coats of natural mineral oil and a little wax brought out the grain and will protect the wood.
Made to the clients own specification this solid oak kitchen was made using traditional mortise and tenon joints throughout and then clad in exterior quality 19mm plywood.
The top was made in 45mm solid oak and finished with a professional grade lacquer to resist heat and moisture.
For this piece of work we were asked to remove the existing ancient shop front and copy it to comply with strict local planning regulations. Working from one on site visit and many photos we were able to replicate the existing structure in solid dark oak and then install it. The glass used was 14mm thick argon filled double glazing units to maintain to look of the original thin single glazing. A solid ( very heavy! ) solid oak door was also made to the clients own design.
All work was successfully completed to the clients satisfaction.

This door was made to the customers own design. Using air dried 40mm thick chene clair with English high quality ironmongery and a clear UV preservative.
We were commissioned by one of our regular clients to make him 2 chunky solid oak beds and install them in his house. Made to his own design and specification he was delighted with the results and all his guests have remarked on the quality of build compared to your shop bought flat pack type bed. Price on request.
We were asked to supply and fit an extensive range of solid oak worktops to a new build house in the historic town of La Souterraine.
The clients had designed a beautiful modern kitchen in a subtle creme colour. After producing several samples which included solid light oak and solid
dark oak with various finish options the clients decided upon a light variant of dark oak with our professional lacquer finish.
This ultimate finish option provides a heat and water resistant finish with a satin sheen.

We were the main Joinery subcontractors for a complete renovation of a house and barn conversion. Here you can see the new made to measure barn doors. We also supplied the shutters , solid oak flooring and kitchen unit worktops.
We were asked to design and build a cupboard under the stairs, a window seat and a cover for the electric meter. All the work was done in dark oak and the clients wanted a clean uncluttered finish - so apart from the hinges all the joinery and fixings are invisible.
